I took a screenshot of an Ipod, redid the control pad so it would be crisp. I turned the screen into an iframe, made the buttons work, etc etc.
Anyways, you can now listen to online radio, which I have included several stations already and would like to add more. So if any of you have stations you want to add, let me know. I also included a flash MP3 player, which doesn't really fit well, but works very well. It's the best free flashplayer out there. Even better than some of the paid ones. I included a sample song, "Bitter Sweet Symphony" which is one of my favorites.
*You can add more stations by adding it to the "menu.html" and adding the html.
*You can edit the "playlist.xspf" to add more songs to your FlashPlayer.
Currently the first screen is blank, I haven't decided what to put in there yet. Any suggestions?
Also, I have a few more ideas, tweaks, and polishing before I release it.
For the time being I have demo available.
HTML page to demo (http://www.xarcell.com/Ipod/demo.html)
I'm also working on a Ipod theme which I'm having some minor issues with. You can still see it at www.xarcell.com .
the ipod demo was very very cool!
Thanks, but I got lots more to do on it. I wanna do some more polishing, maybe redo the menu (I don't like it), and make better images for teh stations.
I also wanna add as many "good working" stations that I can. So far, I have spent hours searching only to find that one outta fifty internet stations actually work well. Having a hardtrime finding a free rap station too.
It's looking nice. I dont like that gap in between each menu item.

Have you thought about turning the forward back portions of the control button into something like next and prev, cycling through the stations? Is it even possible?

I plan to do just that.
There'll be alot of stations though.
I've already added a few news, sports, debate, and other music stations already.
Looks very cool! Great job!
I like it but it timed out my firefox
Some of the stations may time out from time to time I guess. server bandwidth issues.
I need a name for this thing.
I did some more tweaking. I'm almost done with it now.
I may try and put it in more colors, I dunno yet. I am gonan add a few more stations. I also want to tweak the menu a little more. I also removed the flashplayer, simple it didn't fit, etc etc.
I'll be done in a day or 2.
I just noticed the scrollbars in IE. Looks great in FF.
Damn I hate IE.
sweet project! not sure if this is something on my end or not, but when i chose a station it echos, kinda like it is loaded twice or something? ??? i went to a site with a huge list of radio stations and i am not egtting that effect there, just through the ipod thing. i will look into it more, but is anyone else noticing this?
and how about Xpod as a name? ;)
I like that also. Xpod sounds pretty cool.
Did every station echo? I know that sometimes there are 2-3 stations that does that. I fox sports is really bad.
I'm currently adding newsfeeds, and already added clock/calendar.
Any other suggestions?
How do we customize it, or add our own podcasts to the news feeds... calendar,.. etc.
Right now, to customize, you have to add everything to seperate files. You can add more stations, MP3's and Newsfeeds. After I release it I intend to write it in php to be more user friendly, after I get some studying done. It's currently in HTML/CSS/Java.
I also know more Flash than I do php, butI don't think I would be able to get it to play internet radio that way. I'll trying to come up with a hybrid.
The newsfeeds and radio doesn't use any bandwidth at all. So that's not something you have to worry about. It doesn't use anymore bandwidth than a very simple HTML page.
To be honest, I don't have a Ipod, nor have I ever used one. I have no idea what podcasts are. Can you elaborate?
It's closer to completion. All I gotta do is add credicts and the first release will be ready. I ended up adding alot more than I though I would.
Newsfeeds, flash photo viewer, and calculator. I also reowrked the menu's.
The forward and back buttons on the Ipod work now to. For previous to next.
I finished it.
Now I just wanna write a small tutorial on how to add more photos, music, newsfeeds, etc. I wanna try avoid getting bombed with questions as much as possiable on how to add more stuff.

Looking forward to seeing the final product. Thank you for keeping us up on the progress
That's IS pretty neat work!! n1 Xarcell
I finished it a few days ago. Just waiting to get some bug fixes on the DL manager for my site. You'll be able to DL it from there. Including updates and more Xpod skins, etc, etc.
Just found this... how about 'ModPod'?
Thanks !
P/S: Remind fixed witdh size error in I've posted in your site
QuoteTP X-box Live theme has been error when I set my portal in 768 pixels (in General Setting of TinyPortal). When I set width = 0 (fit 100% screen) then have no error but when set another size, it still error (appear frame on the theme).
found this in the index of block code snippets but on reviewing there appears to be no code or download :-\
can somebody tell me if this has been withdrawn please?
or better yet, where to get it...
Looks like the link to Xarcells site have been closed.
I will close this thread, and if Xarcell update his site and the link to his player, he can reopen it :)
I decided to call it Xpod. I think I created a new topic for it.
Here is a link to a HTML download: http://xarcell-studios.com/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item11
I started working on making it work with SMF, but stopped the project because no one seemed to like it.
Alot of the station have changed thier links, so I haven't had time to update them in the Xpod. Alot of the station I have present there no longer work.
Here is an experimental version I was working on. It uses ssi to show stuff if your logged into the site. Just browse to the SMF link in teh main menu. Then you'll see what I'm talking about.
Like I said, I stopped working on it though.
