This is to repay Tick a little for his fast and courteous responses a while back. I know a lot of you want to post video codes from myspace and other sites but can't get them to work. The trick is that the code has to be changed and almost every vid you want to post will show in smf/tiny portal. Here are a few we found and a few we had to figure out for ourselves but they all work.

First Site...Gofish
Original code ~

<embed src="http://www.gofish.com/player/fwplayer.swf" width="343" height="289" align="middle" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" name="fwplayer" allowScriptAccess="always" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" FlashVars="&loc=blog&gf=true&ns=false&fs=false&gfid=30-1076632&c=grey&autoPlay=false&getAd=false&wm=false&ct=true&tb=false&svr=www.gofish.com"></embed>

The posting code I figured out ~

[flash=425,350]http://www.gofish.com/player/fwplayer.swf?gfid=30-1076632[/flash]

Myspace code ~

<embed src="http://lads.myspace.com/videos/vplayer.swf" flashvars="m=763882681&type=video" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="430" height="346"></embed>
Add to My Profile |   More Videos

Darkangels code ~

[flash=425,350]http://lads.myspace.com/videos/vplayer.swf?m=763882681&type=video[/flash]

Next will be Youtube which is identical to Veoh and if you can't figure out the code on an unnamed site, try this one as this is the most generic code in use...

Youtubes code ~

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/aybFyYCaF7Q"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/aybFyYCaF7Q" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

The code we need ~

[flash=425,350]http://www.youtube.com/v/aybFyYCaF7Q[/flash]

For Bolt you change this...

<embed src='http://www.bolt.com/video/flv_player_branded.swf?contentId=2583421&contentType=2' loop='false' quality='high' bgcolor='white' width='365' height='340' name='video_play_500' allowScriptAccess='sameDomain' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer'><embed>

Into This...

[center][flash=365,340]http://www.bolt.com/video/flv_player_branded.swf?contentId=2583421&contentType=2[/flash][/center]

This is for Heavy.com...

Original code

<embed allowScriptAccess="never" FlashVars="embedID=7583a7bba5b7b27b8c0886200482bb86&videoID=2592&autoPlay=false" src="http://www.heavy.com/ve/flvplayer" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="512" height="512"></embed>

Working code...

Remember this one lol

[center][flash=512,512]http://www.heavy.com/ve/flvplayer?7583a7bba5b7b27b8c0886200482bb86&videoID=2592[/flash][/center]

Notice that this one is quite different than the rest so far and took a bit of ingenuity to figure it out.

Hope this helps some people out as when we tried to upload a few vids we found almost no information so we had to crack these ourselves.

Svaha

Thanks for this Armorbeast, very usefull.
I had to change the width/height a little bit to get the video's of youtube in the 'original' size ( 450 x 355) as you can see on my testsite : http://www.amevita.eu/forum/index.php?topic=3671.msg65397#msg65397 (scroll down to the bottom)

On  xoops site I had to set this to 452x357 as you can see here : http://www.amevita.eu/modules/x_movie/x_movie_view.php?cid=4&lid=7

I don't know why I had to do this, but with 425x350 I have white spaces around the video's.

But again thank you.

Now if someone can figure out the MusicBox codes over at Sony BMG, well I'd be shocked to begin with since I couldn't beat it lol. They have a huge viewer that comes with theirs thats really ugly on the eye but their vids are without question legitimate to post on your sites with Sonys permission and they are extremely high quality...even better than what you see on television because I think these came from the original cuts.

Not sure what you mean by 'beat it': the code is provided on the MusicBox video page. Just copy and paste, then wrap with html tags.

Remember: all Flash can be embedded into SMF if you enable that function. Then you just use the Flash tags. You do not need any special code to embed Flash movies, just that provided by SMF.

armorbeast

Provide us something to show what you mean as there is so little information about things like this available that we have to find our own answers. Tons of smf sites only post links and apologies they couldn't get the videos to work because the code doesn't work in smf. So if there is a better way, please illustrate it here for us.

Thanks...

First, get code of movie you want to embed - see (1) for MusicBox

You have two choices on how to embed.

1. Wrap it in html tags:

[html]
<embed src="http://services.brightcove.com/services/viewer/federated_f8/416542555" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" flashVars="videoId=745968117&playerId=416542555&viewerSecureGatewayURL=https://services.brightcove.com/services/amfgateway&servicesURL=http://services.brightcove.com/services&cdnURL=http://admin.brightcove.com&domain=embed&autoStart=false&" base="http://admin.brightcove.com" name="flashObj" width="510" height="550" seamlesstabbing="false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" swLiveConnect="true" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash"></embed>
[/html]

2. Wrap the movie url in the Flash tags, adjusting size to suit:

First, enable Flash in your forum - see (2)

Then post the url and wrap it in the Flash tags. This is Youtube as an example:

[flash=425,350]http://www.youtube.com/v/HU1Yht0FA0M[/flash]

Remember to enter the correct size, as I did for YouTube.

Here is MusicBox code embedded in SMF/TP - (3)

Will give this a go and if it works, can you make a post about this a bit more prominantly placed as a lot of people do not know about this. Give it a simple header that Google can follow like "Adding Flash To Smf" because if the info is out there, none of the search engines I used pull that info up and the same is true for a lot of people.

Thanks in advance...now to try this one out.

armorbeast

Lol...it friggin works like a charm.

Thanks dude as you saved me from having to break these codes apart and figure them all out which with the evergrowing number of flash sites is a nightmare.

But I do have one more thing to add and thats if there are any spaces in the code such as what Radioblog uses, you have to get rid of them or it will not work no matter how you try in smf.

Try this code Solomon and tell me if I am wrong because I don't wish to misinform anyone.

<embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash"  src="http://stat.radioblogclub.com/radio.blog/skins/mini/player.swf" allowScriptAccess="always" width="180" height="23"  bgcolor="#ECECEC"  id="radioblog_player_0"  FlashVars="id=0&filepath=http%3A%2F%2F110sperformance.free.fr%2Fradio.blog%2Fsounds%2F01-ACDC-Hells_Bells-HHI.rbs&colors=body:#ECECEC;border:#BBBBBB;button:#999999;player_text:#999999;playlist_text:#999999;"></embed>

I am not sure why you present code which is neither wrapped in html, nor in flash tags, because - as illustrated here - it cannot work.

This works:

[flash=180,23]http://stat.radioblogclub.com/radio.blog/skins/mini/player.swf[/flash]

The moral of the story is to do it the simple way: allow flash and use the flash tags. It works for me with every type of move, everytime.

Cheers!

armorbeast

The reason I did not is because Radioblog only offers embed codes and the point of using the html is so I don't have to figure out what part of the code to use like you did with the Musicbox link. The reason its not wrapped in html is because I copy and pasted it into my own site where I did wrap it then right clicked on it and saved but did not notice it didn't copy...so the original unwrapped code was posted. Technical error but nothing anyone couldn't figure out.

Point is, there are numerosu sites and numerous flash code variations which is why were having such difficulty and I posted the codes we worked out. Now if you want us to do it the simple way with just the flash code, then you're gonna have to start figuring out how to make the slight adjustments we were doing here to begin with. The html code was where I and many others were making a mistake because you don't need that with any other software I am aware of and most of these sites themselves say the code should work by just copy and pasting it into your site...ask about smf and they say if it doesn't work with their codes then the software itself is to blame.

So lets not nitpick things by saying the moral of the story or something like that...you may have helped a lot of people who didn't know about the html options because the code in your box only shows the player itself...it doesn't work cause you left out the code that actually identifys the song its supposed to be playing.
