Front Page to Display Only Once to Each Member

Maybe a bit too complicated to arrange but I essentially use the front(home) page to focus attention on latest news, events & special interest subject matter. Members, as they do, are now complaining that they don't want to see the page every time they log on, once is enough.

I'm a newbie and a tp moron but what they would like to see is the home page displayed once to each member then thereafter, go straight to the forum page on logging in.

Is this asking too much?

to my knowledge that would be a really big altering of the coding.  I am not saying that it could not be done it would just take quite a bit of changing the code.  I little more than I would know how to do.  but to answer you question it would be a big task.   Tick.
