In Article Viewing options There are two checkboxes:

• Display comments underneath article
• Allow to comment?

I'm unsure as to why I would want to use one without the other, i.e. not have both either checked or unchecked.

Is there any other place to display article comments? A forum topic maybe? That would be nice.

PS. I've searched the forum and the docs, but found no answers.

I am not sure what has been the original purpose of the two options. Having wondered this myself I think it may be useful if you allow article comments for a limited time, but you still want the comments showing after this time is over. This is possible with the two settings.

What is a bit strange is that it is possible to allow to comment, but not show the comments....

And for your second question : no, article comments show under the article and are not displayed anywhere else  ...

Maybe the developers can unify/simplify these options (unless you and I are missing something) because they sure do look confusing in their current state.
