I have been looking everywhere for a script like this...hundres of sites that allow you to do it, but nothing on how to add it to my own site.

So, does anyone have a good block code or possibly a php solution to add a page to the forum that will allow users to upload ringtones, graphics, etc to their cell phones from my site?

wow that would be interesting to do.............

technodragon73

sure would...and think of the possibilities since smf is already wap compatible?

Umm I say a mod for this at smf.

But just a quick fix couldnt you just use a template make sure it doesnt pull any images and just mess with the css to make everything black and white etc?

Don't know what the black and white part is about, but I am talking about a feature (Module, MOD, hack, whatever) to allow members to upload ringtones, graphics, etc. to their cell phones...the merge with wap compatibility could be the possibility of allowing members who access the site by cell-phone to download the same from the wap site.

SMF already has the wap capability

See what I thought you meant was for sites be accessible from cell phones.

My bad.

TechnoDragon, what are those hundreds of sites you mentioned in your first post? I haven't seen one :P If I'm not wrong, to upload mobile contents to cell phones, you'll need a gateway. What I had done was merely to allow users to upload to my site and download from their cell phones. So there's actually one more step involved.

Seems like they're for Sprint users?? I'm not one.. Sorry, have no idea how it works. Do you have any idea how the contents comes to your phone? I was guessing it comes in as an email/MMS with attachments or an SMS with a link. Just stabbing in the dark  ;D

That is because that is who my provider is...but the upload is pretty much the same (at least in concept)

User comes to the site...chooses the file to upload, then whatever magic behind the scenes, message is sent to the phone with a link to download it off of my server.  I do know that there is some kind of file that is created so that the phone knows what it is downloading..that craig given site kinda explains that...but all of it together is confusing...I have tried finding a premade php script that will allow for easy setup of this stuff...but so far have been unsuccessful...I can't beleieve with the number of sites i have found that they all created them from scratch....

btw..here are a couple more sites...
