I am sorry G6, By stable I meant in terms of bugs, although I get the point. I'll remember that now :)

Lesmond

I think what Dragooon meant was the most stable version of TP, which it is IMO

Here, here, I agree

Just a quick check before I install TP1.0.5...

I need to add a forum button to my theme is this the correct doc I should be referring to?

http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=21638.0

Do I just follow the instructions in this doc and instead of caling the button 'gallery' I just call it 'forum'?

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but I have to check these things :)

G6Cad

Before you jump in and install TP, remember to set your forum to use nothing but defaults.
Default Core theme and English language ( not utf ).

And yes, you will have to add the code for the forum to your custom themes if they arent made for tp allready.

Jonny Rojo

I'm not sure what utf means, my forum is in English already though. So am I right in thinking all I need to do before installing is switch the forum's theme to 'SMF Default Theme - Core (1.1.5)' and modify my custom theme so it has a 'forum' button?

G6Cad

More or less yes.
TP installes to the SMF Core theme and every other theme has to be made to work with TP, however the new TP have itäs own layers now so you just meed to add the forum button for the themes in that version.

Jonny Rojo

Thanks a million for the continued advice, really appreciated.

I've just added the forum button...

So the next step will be the switch to the core theme and install. I'm going to spend a couple of days reading through the docs on here first though.

Thanks again for the help so far.
