Title: Dashboard [Sticky Notes] Block
Post by: knat on November 27, 2006, 08:10:25 AM
Ok im sharing this in case anybody finds a use for it.

On my forum we have a dashboard (i thin that is the english word for it)

It supports

Sticky notes blocks (with html or rich text editor)
Websites shown in blocks
Links blocks
RSS feeds blocks
Images

All blocks can be shrinked/expanded/docked

Here is the dashboard on my forum: http://gapeindex.dk/index.php?page=29 [Warning: May contain porno] (you can also view this screenshot) (https://www.tinyportal.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dumparump.com%2Fthumb%2F419%2Ff83w155.jpg&hash=34af7164f6c627f2b8d5468babd98a4b826b9df7) (http://www.dumparump.com/view.php?id=f83w155)

All my moderators have access to add/remove/change blocks on the dashboard..

So how did i make this

Well there is a site that offers you to create your own dashboard on the internet for free..

The address is: http://www.protopage.com/protopage/about

Create a dashboard and share the password with your mods.. or keep it for yourself..

To insert the dashboard i used a centerblock with this iframe code (change to you own url)

<IFRAME marginWidth=0 marginHeight=0 src="http://www.protopage.com/gapeindex" frameBorder=0 width="100%" scrolling=no height=1200>
This option will not work correctly. Unfortunately, your browser does not support Inline Frames
</IFRAME>

And you are good to go  ;D

If anybody has a better way to integrate this i would be happy to hear about it, as the iframe thing is not optimal when somebody clicks a link on the dashboard it opens inside the iframe resolving in two headers on top of each other  :o

They upgraded to next edition today and its even more cooler.. only thing is that there is now a pop up on the page when guests view it.. is there anyway to prevent a pop up from.. ehh .. popping up ?  :o

They made a hell of lot of changes in this new edition so it dont look like that screenshot anymore.. it looks way more cool.. check it out  :D
