I have not been on this site for 10 years or so.... so long I could not find my username and had to re-register.
Nice to see a bunch of names here I remember.

Any way I have reason to start another site and picked SMF and TinyPortal for it.
I installed the newest version of SMF 2.0.7
and Bloc's Enterprise Theme.

I would like to remove the login, search, and theme selection drop down for the header area...

I commented out the code below which take away the guest register menu

        // Otherwise they're a guest - so politely ask them to register or login.
        else
       /* {
                echo ' <span class="blockmain">
                                                        <form style="margin-top: 0" class="blockmain" action="', $scripturl, '?action=login2" accept-charset="', $context['character_set'], '" method="post" ', empty($context['disable_login_hashing']) ? '  onsubmit="hashLoginPassword(this, \'' . $context['session_id'] . '\');"' : '', ' >
                                                                <input type="text" name="user" size="10" /> <input type="password" name="passwrd" size="10" />
                                                                <select name="cookielength">
<select name="cookielength">
<option value="60">', $txt['one_hour'], '</option>
<option value="1440">', $txt['one_day'], '</option>
<option value="10080">', $txt['one_week'], '</option>
<option value="43200">', $txt['one_month'], '</option>
<option value="-1" selected="selected">', $txt['forever'], '</option>
<input type="submit" value="', $txt['login'], '" class="button_submit" /><br />
<div class="info">', $txt['quick_login_dec'], '</div>';

if (!empty($modSettings['enableOpenID']))
echo '
<br /><input type="text" name="openid_identifier" id="openid_url" size="25" class="input_text openid_login" />';

echo '
<input type="hidden" name="hash_passwrd" value="" />
                                                        </form>';
        }*/

Which did remove the guest register but it also causes the site title to drop down when you do log in blocking some of the other areas of the header.

You can see it here
http://www.friendsandfamilyforliberty.org/test/
You can log in as........ testuser.......Password ....testuser

I did look over at the smf site but I did not find anything...
Thanks Guys

Hi carver,

Welcome to the TinyPortal Support Site.

I was looking at your site to try to determine what you could do to hide those 3 items tonight, just now as a matter of fact, but it's obvious that you are working on the site, adding and removing images, while I was trying to do that.  That makes it a little difficult for me to do anything productive while you are also working on it.  For that reason, if you would like me to do so, I can look at this tomorrow morning sometime.  It's almost 1AM here right now, so it is counter-productive for me to wait around tonight while you finish what you are doing.  If you would like me to take a look at this tomorrow when I get online, just say the word, after you have finished what you are doing, and I will look at it.

Sorry, yes I found a newer version of the theme and installed it, and changed the header images.The problem I had with the login time drop down showing all of the options instead of a drop down was corrected with this newer version.
But it created a different issue for me and that is the title of the site takes up more room then I would like as we would like to place a logo at the top instead of the style sheet generated one.
I will return the site to the older theme now, and if you have time to take a look that would be great.
If you need higher permissions let me know...
Thanks, it has been a very long time since I tried to do this stuff, some I remember but a lot I do not...

ZarPrime

carver,

Is the Enterprise theme the one you are going to use on this site?  The reason I asked is because, when I first looked at it this morning, you were using one of Crip's themes, DarkBorder.  If you are going to use Enterprise, where did you download it from?  I think I need to download it and install it on one of my test sites so that I can work on an unedited version of it.

Secondly, in this theme, unless I am mistaken, isn't there an option in "Admin --> Configuration --> Current Theme" to select which theme variation to use and turn off user selection?  If you disable "user selection", doesn't that hide the variation selection dropdown?  Until I see it myself, I can't remember if the dropdown worked that way or not.

sorry for the confusion.
Yes enterprise is the one we are using and is active,
I got it here.... http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=cat87  #6 in the list
I did open registration on that site (its a test site) so you can register and I will give you admin rights if it is easier
then you installing on your site...

OK, well, I don't remember if the one in the download section that you referenced is newer or older than the one that Maxx was doing a rework on and attached to this topic --> http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=34801.msg278940#msg278940

For that reason, I should probably download both of them to see what the differences are, if any.

If you have not yet gone to the trouble.... I downloaded and installed the other version of this, and was able to get all the bits moved about and removed without breaking anything.
I want to both thank you for your time, and apologize for causing so much confusion..

Don't know but maybe someday I'll get around to looking over this theme again, because, it is one of the Best old school/style themes that Bloc did and always pops up somewhere, looking for change..very nice multi-theme!  O0

Jim maybe you could remind me, at present working a full plate! :)

regards,
Maxx

But Mama, That's Where all the fun is!

Carver,

It's OK and no problem.  I was out most of yesterday and didn't have a chance to look at it yesterday until I got home late.  Once I got home, I took the opportunity to look at your site and it looks like you had managed to remove those 3 items that you wanted removed so I figured you were well on your way to getting it done. 8)

Maxx, I agree. This is definitely one of Bloc's best themes ever, even though it's not that easy to work on sometimes.  I used it myself for several years back in the SMF 1.X days and I still like the theme.  I think that the rework you did made it easier to work on.  I'll put this one on my todo list to take a look at in 6 or 8 months, maybe when SMF 2.1 is released.  I've got quite a bit going on right now as well.
