whats the difference between blocks and articles besides articles are mostly for info why blocks are for like functions?

well... I use articles for exactly that, articles and reviews (I do have a few php articles that provide functions).

blocks are summarised information and quick ways of navigation.

I've got quite a few functions in articles. I even have an article called "Articles" that accesses a database of articles.

The main difference between blocks and articles that I can see is that blocks can be on every page, but articles are pages unto themselves.

articles are pages, and blocks are not.

Blocks are elements of page design that can be programmed where (in which panel) and when will be present. They also are repeating, if so programmed, in several sections of the site. They are mostly structural elements of the site altough they may contain information, news etc.

Articles can be programmed to be shown as a page or as elements of page and they can be categorized, archived and so on. They will contain most of the organized information provided by the site as it grows up with time.

You can have your menu point to a category of articles or a single link to an individual article.
