need some help with custom "topics" block

I have found a javascript file (here is the part that needs changed)

_mb_items.push(new Array('RECENT NEWS TOPIC', 'NAME OF BOARD', 'TOPIC STARTER', 'LINK', '197', '1'));
   _mb_items.push(new Array('RECENT GENERAL DISCUSSION TOPIC', 'NAME OF BOARD', 'TOPIC STARTED BY', 'LINK', '27', '1'));
   
and on, and on,

Anyone know how this could be pulled automatically from each board?  I am wanting the most recent topic posted from about 5 diff boards to be pulled in.
