TP version: TP ver. 1.0 5.2
Theme name and version: Helios Multi
Browser Name and Version: Firefox 3.6.8

Related Error messages: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/kefolds/public_html/Sources/TPSubs.php(1720) : eval()'d code on line 1

I got this after trying to install a video/audio player.  I have another site on the same server with the same theme with the same player with no problems. I have dleted everything and re installed smf and tiny portal. Any clues?

If you're trying to install a vido/audio player, what does that have to do with TinyPortal? Unless you're doing it in a block? Can you give more details?

Judging from the error, it looks like you are putting in the actual<?php tags in your code if you are doing something in a block/article. When you create a php block or article, there is no need to put the opening <?php and closing ?> tag in the code.
