ah ok

Could you help me out? http://www.michgiantrunktracking.com/forum

We are trying to get the Tinyportal and SMF 1.0.5 to work right, the buttons are not showing up right and the themes are not changing when you tell it to...

You need to check a few things. First check that your themes are located in the proper folder placement. Each Theme should be in the Themes folder. Then inside that folder you should see a folder with each name of the themes you have installed. Inside those folders you should see the template.php files and images folder... etc. It looks to me like one of two things is happening.
1. You files in the themes folders are not in the proper place, or
2. The permissions on your files in the folders for themes are too strict.

eric

Thanks IchBin....

Forums are running smooth now with the exception of the Themes. Chris says that he did not bring all the files over? Not sure why he did not, but he says that he has fixed it but they are not working properly. The only theme that is working properly is the Blue101 theme. Other than that things appear to be working well on the new server

If anyone would like to take a look and perhaps give your insite as to what could be going on that would be great!

Thanks for all the help

IchBin

Feel free to PM your FTP info and I'll take a look. Maybe even a temp admin account to your forum and I'll see if I can find what's up.

Ouch!!

IF he brought all of the files over AND did not lose any of them or get them mixed up, then I think I know what your problem is....

Go into the SMF Admin section, and to the Themes section. I don't know version 1.05 well, but it looks like the path information is wrong on most of those themes. Somewhere in the Admin section, you should be able to see what the path information is for the themes (use the one that works as you guide to what the paths should look like).

In 1.1 RC1 and RC2, this path information consists of three paths. Two of them are URLs (image and theme URLs, and the third path is the path on the server machine). Make sure that they are all the same (except for the theme folder names) for all themes....

eric

might just let you do that IchBin......funny though, I download one of the themes from here today and reinstalled it and it still looked the same, no changes.....let me think for a minute...

IchBin....thanks for all your help! you are awesome.......

Another slight problem.....I changed the path for the attachments because it was reading the old site. However when I hit Post to post with the picture I get "Cannot access attachments upload path!"

Am I doing something wrong again?

Eric

Never mind got the right path and it is working great.....now we will see if I can get the "whos online" to work effectivly!!

Again thanks for your help!

Glad you're all sorted out now Eric. Site looks good!

IchBin:

Now that I have the forums up and running smoothly, can I upgrade SMF to RC1 and still use TP and my themes, or do I need new themes. I know you stated not to upgrade to RC2, but I think RC1 would be fine.

Eric

BTW..Any way of getting help on installing that Users Online? I get errors everytime I put it on there. May because I dont have RC1? I am not sure....

You must remove the Themes you have for SMF 1.0.5 when you upgrade to rc1.
When you have upgraded the forum to RC1, you must use the themes for TP-rc1.
The smf 1.0.5 and rc1 are not the same.
