Have you tried to run the manual install file to make sure your database is not missing any tables or settings? After doing that I would suggest uploading a fresh set of files and replace your TP files.
i replaced the 4 tp files already and nothing

There is some post in here some where about this i think. eeek posted about some change needed to be done in the database to get it to work.
can you give a GM a test account so we can see why the blocks wont work?
sorry bro im right in the middle of getting sorted after the big move or Id of done been working on it for you. OnTap this one is a weird one, he doesnt have it setup like any smf ive dealt with, mine are ....public_html/site/index.php his is not its i believe httpdocs/site
have you refreshed on any page in his forum? refresh returns you to the main index.php (frontpage) rather than current and if i had a bet Id say it was this that had the problem with not only blocks but other forum functions as well messing up, but Im not sure how to help him fix it.
He's not using Framed Forwarding is he? If so, the site will have REAL problems functioning properly. Can we have a link please? (By PM if there is any adult related content).
OK. Found the site, and the problem. It looks like using a mix of primary domain, and subdomain would be the cause of some of the problems.
http://dragox.kpsh.us/index.php works as it should. However, http://www.dragox.org does not. There is some confusion going on as to where the site thinks it is. You need to fix your domains.
I recently had the same problem, my forum was hosted in a linux server, then I changed it to a windows server. I have this error a lot of times, once I restored database and after a lot of coffees and a lot of headaches I noticed that some tables have a filed which is autonumeric, It's a counter, but in the change from linux to windows, these fields got numeric, so the first post I wrote, the system wrote it as number 0 and worked fine, but the second time it tried to write it like 0 again and crashed the system. I had the same problem with articles. Now I don't know wich fields are autonumeric, you should have to see it in a new instalation, but I think it could be the problem.

when we changed servers a fresh copy was installed. so this is a fresh one hence the tp i used another one b4.

I registered a test account. There is a box opening saying there is a database error. Try downloading a fresh copy of the manual install, and run it. Make sure you run it from the subdomain, and not the primary domain.

ive noticed that if i delete the shoutbox entry i can post another but when i do another (2nd) i get the error)? could it be its being entered as 0 then the script cant enter a shout1? if thats so can it be why i cant post any shouts? it thats the case can i enter a shout manually into where ever its being stored as shout1? and if that works cant i do tht for block?

There is something seriously wrong. I cant find what it is, but it seems to be database related, and I dont know enough about that to help.
The site will not allow creation opf new blocks, or new articles. There is also no selection made for "Hide bars when in admin section?", and it wont allow a selection to be made. Some other settings cant be changed on the settings page either.
I'm out of ideas on this one. Please downgrade the Test Account to regular member for now. One of the other team members may be able to use it to help. Sorry I cant.
Hey, I keep on thinking it could be a database field problem. Could you take a look in phpmyadmin and see if in the next tables you have these "auto-increment" fields:
-smf_tp_variables field id
-smf_tp_articles field id
-smf_messages field id_msg
I had a very similar problem, and I fixed it when I changed this fileds to auto_numeric.

where is phpmyadmin cant find it
It's a service from the server It's not in TP or SMF. It's what you use to modify and/or change something in the database manually. When you bought your hosting, someone had to give you a link to phpmyadmin. It's something like http://phpmyadmin.your_host_name And you should have your database name, the link to enter phpmyadmin and an username and a password.
This is mine, It's in spanish, but here you can see wath I'm refering to.
In the left, you can see all the tables. I have selected smf_tp_variables table. It contains the shoutbox shouts.
There you can see field id is auto_numeric. If it wasn't, the first shout I do, It would be marked as number 0, no problem. But the second will be 0 again and I would have the error you explain.
It may be another problem, but it "sounds" very "familiar" to me.
i have the database. the smf and every thing is installed onto my directory. theres no such thing as far as im aware of. ill ask my friend but i really dont think i have that. besides its all free :)

But you have to have some sort of software so you can connect to your database and see the tables, create new databases and other things
through the interface. its not a provider that gives a forum its a clean databas ei installed the smf and tp software onto.
Is your forum running in your computer or is it in an external server?
That's because you have to have a database running in somewhere and there is a way to acces this database. When you made the smf and tp instalation, it asked you about the name, user and things like this.
If you were running the site form your computer the way to acces it is http://127.0.0.1/mysql/

I couldn't find a way to see how to get to a database hosted there, you'd have to ask kpsh.us how to get to the database.
There is another way; as I told you before, when you installed SMF, it asked you about your databse. It's in admin panel, in configurarion, server settings.
There you have all the data you need except the password, which is masked.

Please contact your host as tiochus suggests. Ask them how to access phpmyadmin (or the system they use for managing databases).

I thought that last night. I'd go as far as to delete the entire database (the whole thing [new Db, new name, new Db username, everything]), and make a new one from scratch. Also use fresh files from SMF and TP.
**But this is from a non Db person (it may be able to be fixed, I dunno).**

Ok, the "system" is Source files + Database. You have replaced all the source files and you still have the error, so the problem must be in the database. It could be anything more, but as I said, I had the same error and It was caused by some fileds which have to auto increment themselves, but they didn't; so the system always tried to save the record with number 0. The first time It's Ok, but the second, third,... It sees that record number 0 exists so give you the error.

You have told you don't have any way to acces database.
It must be a way to enter to phpmyadmin or a similar software.
It seems to be a paying web hosting so they have to give a way to acces mysql database.

Read it again my freind. I could see the errors within the site, and could work out from there that it was a Db problem. I didnt need to go into the Db to see it. I still feel that the fault is in the Db, but I'm not sure on how to fix it.

but i had a different portal system on the same server b4 and no problems. shouts blocks every thing was fine
That fine, and all this may need is a little tweak in your database and you can probably have the same thing. :) Does your host not have phpMyAdmin?

bro without the admin access to the database I couldnt fix this for you im sorry. If you want I can setup a subdomain on my panel or ask my hosting agent to port over your domain onto my account and than we can get this working lickity split so let me know.

if u got your stuff hooked up and u can do it i go the new theme in psd aand u can take out the stuff and out in urs like the 3 djs. i did it plain first then added those things. just can u fix the dragox for the dx theme when res is like 1024/-. im home all day tomorrow and next week so we can get the new theme out fast
