I have this same issue.  I have done many installs although it has been a while.  I did one a couple months ago, but got a site installed for a canadian band.

Rusty again...When I tried a new install this weekend.  I could not get tiny portal to install.
I tried the package manager. (Sometimes package manager installs fresh, but this time, and "same server"
couldn't get past this session verification issue.

Then:  I could not get, tp 0983 to delete from "package manager"   So;
I tore it all down, and started over, and did manual install.  When I pointed firefox @ manual_tp_install.php
I get this page.  See attached img file

no links, and no tiny portal on the new smforum
Yes.  I am using the same login info in package manager as I do with my ftp client.  I use Core ftp le.

Then I did another install, and got to here with package manager.

with 0983 and every time I apply mod in "package manager...

I ran the repair.setting.php...to no avail.

Still when I enter my ftp info.  I get session failed.

Thanks for the ultra cool google, and I did learn how to search out these type queries.  I just didn't understand how.  thanks.

Yes I am Bloc, and...

I read in another post onsite today that a quickfix was to overwrite smf117/packages  with smf116/packages

good to see you around.  I am working on building a homepage styly frontpage with your new management system.  Starting to understand it...
I will be posting a few more issues, as I run across them.  Perhaps it will help a few prople since I have a sophmoric mastery of
TP.  right now I am posting an issue with the editor.
