Bloc is on the way to implent a gallery module for TP.
Actually some of the files for it is in the TP V.092 allready. (still not activated though)
But i think it will be in the 1.0 release of TP, cant say when that will be released for eather Alpha team or public betas

When do you think Bloc will be close to creating the gallery module for TP? I am looking for something where my members can add photos to the gallery.
Is there a working solution in place now where one can add a gallery that their members can use? Again...a working solution [lol]

You can try this: http://www.tpvgames.co.uk/smfgallery/
It's a gallery created for SMF and it's easy to install, it also takes on the colors of the theme that you're using.

RoaringRow can you members create galleries or add photos? Realistically how difficult or PITA (Pain in the A**) is it to install? I am torn between Tiny Portal and Mkportal which has a gallery.

A gallery module in Tp wont be seen before the TP V1.0 release.

If you look at the roadmap here (http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?page=14) you see what is implented in the next release, and what is planed for TP V1.0 :)

I have..ish, its chopped up a bit, all I can say is it works...eventually!

My opinion - its the right idea but  Dont go removing coppermine or any other gallery to install this.  There’s many things you wont like and one of them is the unbelievable amount of queries to generate each page. That and it resizes pictures but looses the aspect ratio and flash is to small to watch.

....does anyone know of or have installed a gallery with tinyportal successsfully? Let me further explain...something EASY to install. I have searched for a portal forum/gallery tight integration however I have found none that are ready for primetime...too much work on the frame instead of just user customization.
http://www.photozo.com is a beautiful example however there is nothing that I know of off the shelf that produces a beautiful tight portal.
Am I the only one out here feeling this way? Can anyone point me to a working solution?
Sorry didnt want to come across as a rant...sigh...just frustrating all the hacked  energy going on with integrating a gallery with forum for a multi user portal.

You are not alone with the feeling of and easy way to setup a gallery with in TP.
A gallery module is in progress for TP but not done until 1.0 release, so it is quite some time left before a release on that.
For now you can use some other gallerys that blend in after some work as you say.
Coppermine have a bridge for SMF so it uses the same users and membergroups as the SMF and TP, then you have a gallery mod on SMF that blend it pretty good to, i havent used or tried that one out my self, but i have seen some that have done it and it looks good.
I prefer coppermine in my setup, and then show it in a iframe in article, that way it look and feel like it's a part of SMF and TP.
You can look at it on my site.

But a simple gallery that look like from your link will not be good before the 1.0 release of TP.

There are a cpl options you can do temparairly, but try not to muck with the database to much until 1.0v comes out with hopefully a gallery module. Ive got one that uses my forums database but I kinda wish i had waited because its iframed into the forum and like you and everyone else I want one totally integrated.

I had thought about doing a integrated one but bloc already plans on it so why duplicate his efforts especially when he knows his way around smf better than most of us :D

I use smfg which partially integrates (it uses parts of the css and index.template.php to generate, and uses the same database, so members etc all are the same): http://www.techdomain.com.au/gallery/

the link to their site is http://tpvgames.co.uk/web/smfg/

its nowhere near as good as a built in one will be though

OldiesMann from SMF is in the process of integrating Gallery2 with SMF. Here's a link to his beta site if you want to sign up.

I think you have to request to be added to his beta testing group.
