Does this mean I am going to have to fumble through the manual install?

You shouldn't be installing a mod while your forum is set to another theme. The default theme is the only theme mods will install to. However, since your test failed messages are on multiple files I would say yes, you will need to do the manual install.

Sorry, I was at work at 5am this morning doing a database migration that had the possibility of being a HUGE failure. So, I've got my business socks on this morning.

Understand fully, spent yesterday fighting with a MySQL DB move to another server... I finally beat it into submission...   I'm just wondering why the least mod'ed of my SMF/TP installs is the one to fail the upgrade... go figure.. Boy do I love computers.. !! --Mitch
