1.0.5 feature questions

Hey, I've just checked out the TP 1.0.5 roadmap and had 2 questions regarding implemented features stated.

First of all:

themes DO NOT have to be modified to work with panels anymore.

Does this mean you won't have to use templates specificly designed for TP+SMF but can just use a template designed for SMF alone?

Second:

show authors avatar inside the article

Does TP allways does this? If so, I think many would prefer this to be optional.
