How would you do this new install?

I am new to TP. I've been playing with it on a test forum as someone suggested I do so I could test its features and such.

I have a very active, large SMF forum and from my very limited experience with TP, it certainly looks like it is what I have been looking for.

Right now I only have three Mods on the forum: Ad Management, Karma Description, and Multiple Badges.

So here's a few questions, if you have time to give me your opinion & expertise.

1. I know I have to uninstall all mods before installing TP to my real forum. Is anyone here running Karma Desc. on a TP forum? Does it work fine? If I have to update/upgrade the Karma Desc. mod in the future, do I need to uninstall TP first? I guees I need to know that for all mods.

2. What about the Ad Management, for Adsense. Should I reinstall that as well or would you/do you just put Adsense in one of the blocks? Seems like I would still like them to show within the forum more (you can have them withing posts, etc)

3. Are there any other things I really need to be aware of with installing TP on this forum? Just want to make sure I don't mess everything up, obviously.

For mod installation it is suggested that you install the mod with the most modifications first. Then try to install other mods after. If other mods fail they will have to be installed manually. If all of your mods do install successfully, take note in which order you installed them. In case later you need to remove them you would need to remove them in reverse sequence.

Ad mod has more options to display ads(like you mentioned in posts etc.). So TP will be a bit limited in that comparison.

If you're going to update a mod later I would suggest you do it manually, but that is just my $.02.

I just installed all three mods sucessfully on my test forum running TP. That augers well.

Should I try it on my real forum in this order:
1. Uninstall all mods
2. Install TP
3. Reinstall mods in same order I installed on test forum

Sounds like it would work?

Yes that should work. However, remember that mods install only on the default theme and not custom themes. So you'll have to add the code for those mods to your themes manually if you want to see them in your custom themes.

I'll have to find out how to do the manual install of a mod. That I have never done. Either that or stick with the default.
