i just downloaded and upgraded to rc1 but before i did this i uninstalled tp, because this was a problem going from 1.0.5 to 1.1b3. now the package manager won't even give me the option 'apply mod' for TP 0.7.2, and i realize that it's because of incompatibility, but alot of the other mods that haven't been updated in months or more still work, oddly.

Weird thing is the package manager says i have no mods installed at all :|

I think we all jumped the gun on the upgrade. LOL. I guess we should have know to wait for the word from the Big Kahuna, aka Bloc.

I'm sure TP would be modding the index.template.php file the most!

There are differences in RC1 that will make portal installation break..that why its set to only apply to 1.1beta3 max...but I am testing it now, so the release will also install on RC1 when i am done. ;)

The hide bars option is probably changes in the javascript - all the more reason for TP to explicit have a own mod file for RC1, as it has for both 1.0.5 and 1.1beta3.

Sounds good Bloc. Having seperate installs is a great idea.

Wow! I just looked what time it is and then I saw you were online. It has to be like 3 or 4 AM in the morning for you. You crazy man!! Go to sleep lol.

Meh.....  I used on my board which uses RC1.  It works like a charm for me.  I haven't had any problems yet.

They changed a lot with RC1
Template changes from SMF 1.1 Beta 3 Public to 1.1 RC1 (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=50411.0)

I am updating my forums to 1.05 this weekend, I just am really unsure of going to RC1.
For those that have updated, do you see the benefits ?

I'd leave 1.1 alone as a main forum until it goes gold, has Tiny Portal, themes and a reasonable range of usable mods available. By all means create a test 1.1, as I have and will use it with TP for 1.1 ##, but if I was Bloc I wouldn't be creating variations of TP for each beta or RC unless it was essential.

I totally disagree.
RC1 is not as bad as u claim. In fact SMF1.1 was stable even from beta3.
What's more in RCx versions, feature adding stops, basically the differences between RC's are only bug fixes. So don't expect major changes in RC2, as far as the templates is concerned.
In my opinion, if TP works fine with RC1, it'll 99% continue to work just fine in RC5++.

They made a lot of changes from 1.3 to 1.4 ( or RC1 ).
