Title: Static Page Suggestions
Post by: anunlike on January 22, 2006, 12:03:28 AM
I know you gave article options which can, essentially, turn an article into a static page. I've been messing around with it, creating an 'About' page and a rules page with php. But, I noticed a few things I'd like to suggest in addition to the options already there.

-- An option to show "Last updated:" or something like that. I'd really like for people to see when I last updated pages that contain, for example, site copyrights / disclaimers / rules / etc. I could do this manually, but I think it'd be cool to have in there as a standard feature.

-- An option to turn off the "Read more..." link when already reading the full article. I imagine there are plenty of times where this wouldn't be needed, especially on pages that are supposed to be static.

Thanks.

The readmore should not be there for a page in full..that whats you refer to?

"last update"..can just changing the creation date be the answer?

Yes.

I created them as php articles. I added everything and get the "Read more..." link at the bottom when viewing the full article. Maybe I just did something wrong?

Well, I was wondering if the actual text "Last updated: " (or something similar) could be added as a feature with that. I guess it's nitpicking and not that important, but I've always liked it for all kinds of things, like for pages with copyrights, rules, etc. and if a member submits an article and wants to update it sometime. I suppose I could it manually. Yeah, the date changes manually, but I was wondering if the actual "Last updated:" phrase could be in there somewhere.
