Title: TP 2.2.2 blocks SMF 2.0.19
Post by: JLavau on February 05, 2023, 04:39:26 PM
The history of info.deonto-famille.org is special : it was the mirror of deonto-famille.info, which is now down.
Before restoring the historical one, I tried to restore TP on info.deonto-famille.org, but :
when TP is installed, no more access to forum nor portal. It works with SMF 2.0.19, but only without TP. So I had to disinstall TP.
PHP is 8.1.14
The language of the site is french.
Error message : "Perhaps cookies are disabled".
I use firefox on Ubuntu 22.04.

Is there an error in the error log? What version of TinyPortal were you running and what version of PHP?

PHP is 8.1.14, the provider is BlueHost.
No error reported today from my address, only from a banned address.
Installation and de-installation of TP 2.2.2 are reported on admin log.

Did you have any php blocks in the old forum? Very well possible that deprecated code in those blocks is disrupting the forum...

Try this

But you can add noblocks to the end of the your site address, this should let you get back on to your site, and then you can turn off the offending block in admin.

Example:  http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?action=admin;noblocks;

Sorry @rjen, I do not understand what it is about. TP is now un-installed on https://info.deonto-famille.org .
I should use the suggested "noblocks" argument if I try a re-installation. Right ?

Now installed TP 2.3.0
Same error :
QuoteLa page n'est pas redirigée correctement

Une erreur est survenue pendant une connexion à info.deonto-famille.org.

La cause de ce problème peut être la désactivation ou le refus des cookies.

As long as this error persists, nobody accesses to the site.

The argument ?;noblocks works.
THANKS !
But I do not see what to do afterwards.

Go to https://info.deonto-famille.org/index.php?action=admin;noblocks;

and login

then go to the blocks admin page

https://info.deonto-famille.org/index.php??action=tpadmin;sa=blocks;noblocks;

and on this page deactivate all your blocks (turn all 'activate' traffic lights to red).
You forum should work again, without showing any blocks.

Now you need to examine the blocks: PHP blocks are most likely the issue.
You can activate the blocks one by one: when you get to the problem block you will see that the site breaks again. Go back and deactivate that block....

By the way: the message says ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

that usually is caused by an incorrectly configured .htaccess file....

The button activate/deactivate does not product any result : the button comes back to green immediately after saving.
However, after clicked on the empty button of displacement for the three left blocks, the forum works, but the portal/home page never comes : returns immediately to the action forum.

Sorry, but I do not understand what you are saying. Perhaps it's a language barrier

I can see you forum page now, even though the right panel seems to distort the display. On my mobile.

Can you access the TinyPortal settings for the Frontpage? There is a redirect option there: what is it set to?

The update block not saving sounds like mod security is enabled on the server.

You can disable the block inside it without using Ajax by clicking and selecting disable at the top.

The default and minimal address now redirects always to
https://info.deonto-famille.org/index.php?action=forum
So no accces to home (accueil in french).
Sure I access to TP menus.

But the streetlight button does not do any effect.

Another site uses the same configuration SMF 2.0.19 + TP 2.2.2 but it works (also on BlueHost.com) :
http://impostures.deontologic.org/index.php

ERROR. http://impostures.deontologic.org/ works with TP 2.1.0

Perhaps a problem with the designation of the subdomain, conflicting with subdirectories ?
I suspect incoherences in the setting tables.

I suspect issues in the forum settings, not the TinyPortal settings though. The redirects and problems with the script based functionality suggest server / forum setting issues

Exactly the same symptom on the historic site, now restored : http://deonto-famille.info :
No access to the forum nor the portal with TinyPortal v. 2.2.2 or 2.3.0.
Have to deinstall it, to save at least the forum.
SMF 2.0.19
Server ovh.com in Gravelines.
PHP 8.1

What version of TinyPortal do you have installed here,

https://info.deonto-famille.org/index.php Because it looks really old. TinyPortal © 2005-2012 and probably not compatible with php8

2.3.0 then 2.2.2 then 2.3.0.
Same blocking. Same error message. Though not the same server, and no subdomain involved. The code is a just new, naked 2.0.19 from SMF.
Quote from: error messageLa page n'est pas redirigée correctement

You have not connected to the historic site deonto-famille.info, just now restored, but on the mirror, info.deonto-famille.org. And this mirror has now a bigger problem : it does not more find its theme. So its face is ugly, and almost useless.

Thanks for taking time for helping !

Have you run Repair Settings and made sure all your paths and url settings are correct.

OK, thanks !
The mirror site https://info.deonto-famille.org/index.php?action=forum (https://info.deonto-famille.org/index.php?action=forum) works fine now, but only with action=forum or else, alas not at the TinyPortal address, https://info.deonto-famille.org (https://info.deonto-famille.org/).

The historic site deonto-famille.info (//deonto-famille.info), is now restored. It was created in 2006. No new attempt to install and deinstall TP, so the articles remain out of reach of the reader..

There is something wrong with the redirects on you main address. Getting too many redirects

No other way than to deinstall TinyPortal on https://info.deonto-famille.org (https://info.deonto-famille.org)
Pity !

We would like to help, but with the limited info and no access to your site there is nothing we can do... the symptoms are not common, so I expect is is something specific to your server...

One of your blocks is likely causing the issue. Disable them all and upgrade to 2.3.0 and see if it works. If it does enable one block at a time until it breaks. Then let us know what one breaks it.

The historic site deonto-famille.info, SMF 2.0.19 and TP 2.1.0 :
33726 errors in few hours. Very near to overflow the maximum capacity of the database space (OVH)
smf_log_errorsfin.sql .
File attached, the lastest errors : smf_log_errorsfin.sql
at address http://deonto-ethique.eu/ressources/smf_log_errorsfin.sql
A discordance exists in the version of PHP : 8.1 or 7.4.
Maybe a discordance exists also in the versions of the TP files, passed through an attempt in 2.3.0

The same kind of errors are also flowing by thousands on the mirror site : info.deonto-famille.org (SMF 2.0.19 and TP 2.1.0).

I will have to deinstall TP on both sites.

Have you installed 2.1.0 on a database that had 2.3.0 installed?

Then you will have to manually delete all you blocks and create them again.

The database structure for blocks was updated in 2.3.0, and there is no way to go back to previous versions without manually recreating your blocks...

This is also stated in the download...

QuoteThis version contains an update of the internal block variable handling: after this upgrade there is no returning to older TinyPortal versions while keeping the existing blocks intact!

I see you edited your post after I replied. Again: you can repair your site by deleting all blocks and create the again.

Of course, if you feel you do not need TinyPortal on your site, feel free to remove it...
