Recent Topics Block Problem

There is a slight problem with this block and that is if someone makes a new topic with non-english characters, this block will not render them correctly. Instead it will have this 很æÅ"‰&#2484...

Is there anyway to get around this?

What theme are you using?

I'm using my own theme, as in I changed it myself to work with TP.

I am not sure why, but it could be the encoding of the page, i use foreign letters too, like ÃÆ'ƒÂÃ,¦ÃÆ'ƒÂÃ,¥ÃÆ'ƒÂÃ,¸, and they render fine. Have you tried to compare if it happens in the  default theme too?

You see...the recent blocks in just pulled into the index.template - all sub-tempaltes are, also TP - so its index.template.php that decides if the showing of non-english leters is correct.
