Are there any tutorials available for building themes for TP and smf 1.1 rc3

Not really. Theres not much to it once you figure out how to build an SMF theme. All you have to do after that is add the code for TP. I would suggest you start with the default theme and edit it to do what you want. Thats' about the only way to learn for starters. There's a few small tutorials for SMF themes on their site. But I haven't come across anything that is a really great tutorial yet.
