good morning everyone--- I posted this last night in the smf forums. it got 2 views all night. not so interesting I guess--maybe it has been fixed  and I searched for the wrong thing --any way I still can't do it.

add this to it. It does not work in any theme including default.Of course I can link to pics from imagemagic and the like and they appear.

hello to everyone. logged in as admin I just tried to add a pic/file from my local computer as an attachment. got the "Cannot access attachments upload path" deal.

I have run repair settings and it was not the problem. the file extensions are listed and I see nothing that would prevent them from uploading-- permission wise.

I need to rule out smf as the problem before I talk to the host. I do not even know if it is/could be the host. I was just migrated to another server that I thought was a little more loosely configured--maybe that is the problem.

I know this has been discussed and I did search.

I am running smf1.1.2 tp 9.8

smf lite and tp are the only mods --both work great..hotlinking is disabled if that matters.

It is not hosted on my local server.

Did you chmod your attachments to 777 and see if that does anything?

superQ

I mean to include that in the post :uglystupid2: yes the attachments folder is 777 the stuff in it is 644. I noticed the dates on the files inside attachments [3]were from Jan 5 or so, I guess they havent been changed since then?

superQ

Problem solved. When the host migrated me to another server they changed the home directory from home to home2. It is right[home2] in the server settings[I did not need to change that], but wrong in the path to the attachments directory. Somehow they thought Q would know that :uglystupid2:

haha, I was wondering if you were still working on this.

Good work! i also put folders as 755 and files 644 since my hosting does not allow me to have 777 at least not on files ,
