Annoying Profile Bug

Hello, I am the proud owner of an SMF+TP Forum :)

Everything is going great...well, almost everything.

Ever since I installed TP 0.9.6 on SMF 1.1 RC3 for the first time (back when that was the latest release) myself and my members cannot modify their forum profile information; however, they can edit their account information, and all other parts of profile.

Worse yet, there is no PHP error or warning; just a blank page, not even a message in the error log.

He is a list of some of the things I've tried:

- removing all other modifications and reinstalling TP

- reinstalling TP after uploading the original SMF files

- uninstalling all modifications, and then installing TP  manually

- installing all other modifications except for TP

- removing TP tables and reinstalling

And it still doesn't fix the problem  :tickedoff:

I've come to the conclusion that TP is causing this problem because as soon as I uninstall it, with all other modifications still installed, the profiles are able to be edited just fine. I suspect my PHP settings may be at fault, but I have no idea which ones to check.

My forum URL is: http://tqteh.ath.cx/forums/

Any ideas on how to correct this problem  ???

Any suggestions are appreciated, whether they work or not  :P

P.S. yeah, yeah, I know... I need to change the theme, but I want to get this fixed first  :buck2:

Never heard of this one before to be honest from anyone.

What other mods do you have installed ?

Because if it is giving you a blank page it could be because the profile.template.php file is corrupted somehow

so it may help knowing which mods u have in there

SPW

Here is a list of modifications that I have installed.however, I don't think that these are the source of my problem. This is because I have already tried to remove all the modifications, and then upload a fresh set of SMF files (less settings.php and install.php) and then installing TP, even trying it manually; unfortunately, this did not solve the problem.

Ok I am attaching 2 files to this post.

Do the following in order and see it if fixes it or not.

- Download your Profile.php file from your Sources folder and save it in a secure location as a backup
- Download your Profile.Template.php file from your Themes/default and save it in a secure location as a backup

Then replace both files in the 2 folders with the ones provided below.
And see if it fixes the problem.

If not then simply restore your backups to the folder again and I will refer this issue to someone with more experience.

I uploaded those files after a upload of fresh SMF files, and still no difference

Clear your cache and temp internet files then do a hard refresh "ctrl+F5"

I cant say whats the cause, but if you uninstall the other mods one by one and check after you have removed them if it works again. thats about the only thing i can think of.

SPW

Already tried that, but thanks

very strange indeed - ur the first guy I have encountered with this issue ever. So cant really say what could be causing that. My best guess was a corruption of the profile or profile template files - thats why I had attached the modified version for TP for u up there.

If your forum is new then I would recommend that you try a clean install, after which install TP and then the other mods.

But before doing anything be sure to take a Database Backup

Alternatively you could also install a new forum in a second folder if your host allows multiple DBs (or u could even use the existing DB but with a different prefix for the new install)
