When changing the sort heading, the download count for one item is incremented.  Seems to be only this one item.

Edit: also triggers on refreshing the page.
Edit2: does the same thing on my test site running SMF 2.0 RC3 and TP 1.0 beta 5-1. http://www.test.planetdescent.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=cat1

Willy,

When I looked at your sites, it seemed that only the file "Another test" incremented.  There is not much that we can do wrt TP 1.0 beta 3.  It seems to work the same way on your SMF 2.0 test site with ony that one file (the same one) being incremented.  Could you upgrade your test site to the latest version of TinyPortal and see if it still happens?  If it does, then we can add it to the BugTracker.  At this point, I haven't been able to duplicate this on my test site though I'm going to upload some more stuff and see what happens.

WillyP

No I cannot.

QuoteThis package is already installed, and no upgrade was found!

You should uninstall the old version first to avoid problems, or ask the author to create an upgrade from your old version.

Please remember to always make regular backups of your sources and database before installing mods, especially beta versions.

QuoteError in Package Installation
At least one error was encountered during a test installation of this package. It is strongly recommended that you do not continue with installation unless you know what you are doing, and have made a backup very recently. This error may be caused by a conflict between the package you're trying to install and another package you have already installed, an error in the package, a package which requires another package that you don't have installed yet, or a package designed for another version of SMF.

I tried uninstalling, that did not work.  then I found a screen that said delete TP, I thought that succeeded but no, that's when I took the above quotes and screen shot.

WillyP

Now, I decided to play with it some more, and this time the uninstall gave me a screen similar to the one in the screen shot I posted.  But I went ahead anyway, what the heck it's just a test forum anyway.  :D

It seemed to go without a hitch and this time I was able to delete the TP package.  And successfully reinstall TP.  But the counter increments still, on that one item.  Kinda strange.

I can just delete it, no biggie, but it is very odd that it would do that.

ZarPrime

Yes, it's very odd indeed.  I didn't download your 3 files so I don't know what they are.  When you compare the 3 downloads, is there anything that sticks out as being radically different with that one file?

ZarPrime

WillyP

I see no difference... but it does show the image, whereas the one named 'test' does not.  Perhaps it is counting viewing the image as a download?  Hitting one of the sort categories, or refreshing the page, increments the download counter but not the views counter.

I opened 'another test' and 'test' in NP++ and they look similar.  I uploaded both of these images when I first installed the forum while testing.

ZarPrime

Well, I still haven't been able to duplicate the issue but you may be right, it may be incrementing when the picture is actually displayed rather than when it's actually downloaded.  I may see if I can download your 3 files and try the same thing out on my test site to see if this is what is happening but you might have to give me a couple more days to try to figure this out.

WillyP

Thanks...    O0  no rush, it's not a big problem.  ;)

ZarPrime

Willy,

I'm going to put this in the bugtracker and see if I can get Bloc to take a look at it.  I am going to give him the link to your test site.  Please leave it up there until bloc has had a chance to see this issue.

Willy, out of curiosity, what are the differences between the settings on those 2 files?  In other words, what did you do to display the picture on one and not the other?  bloc might want to know exactly what your settings are.

Hey, that's a good question...

In the one that shows the thumbnail, wyswyg editor has this:

<p align="center">
Another test of the upload system.</p>

<p align="center"><img src="index.php?action=tpmod;dl=get3" alt="chase2.gif"></p>

Whereas the other just has this:

This is a test of the upload system. Please download the file and report any anomalies observed during the process. Thank you!

Do you think that would make it seem like a download to the counter?
