Post by: evilopinions on January 05, 2006, 04:45:50 PM
This might be fun for those who need to increase revenues of your site !

This script will make someone compulsarily click on the link you want.

The code is

<a href="" onmouseover="parent.location='http://www.evilopinions.com/'">Evilopinions</A>

Just try out. If a visitor hover's his mouse over the link he will compulsarily be taken to that page.

You can view a live demo at : www.evilopinions.com

geesh not to be out and out rude but.....

I hate scripts like this.  I hate sites that have scripts like this installed.  All I can tell you is that if you want people to repeatidly visit your site this script isn't the best way to draw them back.  It may guarentee that they never return.

But to be fair.... I'm sure someone out there might have a use for it.   Good luck with that.

I could see it's use for a practical joke...... you know, to make someone THINK they have malware or worse.

Other than that.... I stop going to sites with popups and other rude advertising.......

At the very least, they'd have to allow HTML in their signatures.

I tried this on several message boards I have and it doesn't work even on the sites where I allow full HTML to certain users. It does work on a regular page, but I have scripts disabled on my full HTML boards.

Stuff like this even though it is funny and can be used for fun if this is mis-used it could really hurt you or your forum.

I would say use it as you see fit for jokes and other funny stuff but don't use it to be a prick... In the end your the only one that will lose.

Just smile, walk away and forget about it. It isn't worth your time and it could become an obsession. In the end, you'll have to answer for your actions - why not make certain they are all good?

And if he were to file an abuse complaint with your ISP?

Or worse - if the traffic is routed through NJ?   :2funny:

I could see myself using this for good, as some sort of work around.  But getting folks to open ads they dont initiate only serves to ensure they'll never visit your site again.
