Title: How do I use one of your themes?
Post by: redone on March 11, 2005, 04:48:14 PM
I love your themes they are awesome! Seems everyone uses them. Almost every site I goto has a Bloc theme must make you feel good!!!

I am using the classic theme right now and I want to use your mercury theme. But I have no idea how to make the changes because I have the following mod's installed:

arcade mod - I can figure that out because I help out at SMFgames!
location mod - struggle on that one
rate a thread mod - struggling on that one too

How would I take the settings that work fine in the Classic theme and make them work with Mercury?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for your time...

hm. You probably best off reading the mod/xml files from these mods..they describe whats being changed..but I agred it can be a daunting task.

Are you using the latest version of Mercury?

And, yes..I noticed that many places now do use the themes.. ;D.
I did a quick google on them...:
Apollo -  57 hits
Helios - 34.200 hits
Mercury - 25 hits
Juno - 463 hits
TechHead -  2370 hits
Themis -  2830 hits
Simplicity -  266 hits
TinyPortal - 43 hits

Seem Helios is quite popular... :)

Well I have read one of the xml files and the changes I make create parsing errors! I am pretty much back to square one on the whole theme thing and left using the Classic one for now it seems.

The only thing I can see why the changes I made don't work is that the changes say in the rate a thread mod also changes not just the display.template and the index.template they also changes these files:

manageboards.template.php
messageiindex.template.php

Those files are not in the theme so that is I am sure why my changes don't work!

Did I say your themes are awesome? Yeah EVERYONE uses them and Helios really is a very popular theme.

Thanks for your time.
