Yes, a single article for the Home page.

Just a thught. Using a article to me is not the best way for the front page, because it always looks like a article. I would try using a front page block for this tbh.  ;)

I don't understand much of what they do.  A couple times per year, they get everything updated, and delete "the cobwebs".  Actually this is the first time he's used the word "overwrite".

My server was a gift from them, and the plan was to help me learn how to manage everything myself.  But that part of the plan never happened.  I think about finding a new host and paying for it, sometimes.  But so far, I haven't figured out how to find a good host.  Either there's no kind of consumer review for internet hosts, or I haven't found it.

So far, free, unlimited webspace has been worth the occasional goofs.  Everyone is human.  But someday I'll probably have to move.

Huh?  How can you see that?  It's still in maintenance mode!  Oh, you mean the gallery?  I never even got that far in checking things out.  Wasn't it showing the custom Aqua Style theme?

TP has a new version?  My version used to be 1.107.  Oh yes, now 1.111 is installed.  But how could you see that?

Actually, I could probably do that now.  When I first made the site, I was learning a lot, and very fast.  The only way I could figure out how to get html was using an article.  But not too long ago I found how to make a block with html in it.

Well, if we can get my site back to where it was before, I'll try to make the front page with html.

Thanks a lot for your help   :)

Oh, I've got a reply from them.  It turns out the problem is happening because he upgraded to 1.111.  He was going to go back to the previous version, but he said is not compatible with new Query String.php (which I have no idea what it is).

So now the question is, with TP 1.111, how to have the panels and blocks only on the index page?

It has the updated copyright.  ;) TinyPortal © 2005-2015

The gallery theme, I might have got that wrong, just though it looked different from what saw earlier. Perhaps not.

The article stuff, well you should just be able to grab the code from the article, and paste it into a front page html block. Like you said, when you get your site back, it's worth a go.

The front page here is made up with blocks only, no articles at all.  ;)

TP 1.0 isn't compatible with SMF 2.0.11 but TP 1.1 is. That's why it gave that error, it's a known problem. ;)

brynn

I have SMF 2.0.11 and TP 1.111.

Should I be able to have the blocks and panels only on the index page?

Yes Brynn, should work same as your old version of TP.

brynn

Well, it's not.  How should we go about troubleshooting?

brynn

I think we're ready to go back live shortly.
