Thought it better I start a new thread.

Link to my site: http://www.tropicalfishforums.co.uk
SMF version: SMF ver. 1.1.10
TP version: TP ver. v1.0 beta 4
Theme name and version: Siradisi
Browser Name and Version: Firefox latest
Mods installed: SMF Media Gallery 2.0, Redimensionner les images
Related Error messages: None

When I try to access the admin panel I am prompted for password, when filled in I click to enter and it refreshes to same page, only way around the problem is to log out and back in, it will then allow me access for about 30 minutes then does the same again.
Should I uninstall TP and my custom theme and start again?

G6Cad

I think that would be the best yes
Start with the big upgrade over at SMF forums, when everything works there, then add your mods, and after that, your custom themes.

Login issues are not really our department as it's SMF function.

IchBin

Make sure your login problem is gone when you reinstall SMF. Don't install TP until you can verify that your problem has went away.

I have only just installed SMF 1.1.10 but the admin panel stated I had old files so I needed to do the large upgrade, this failed with error and now I am unable to get into admin to turn forums back on.

This query:

   ALTER TABLE smf_smileys
   ORDER BY LENGTH(code) DESC;

Caused the error:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'LENGTH(code) DESC' at line 2

Tried the fix at SMF but still no joy, I give up.

bloc

The fix..was that to change the "upgrade.php" file where "ORDER BY LENGTH(code) DESC" was changed to "ORDER BY code DESC"?

If so, it should work.

Yep, did that Bloc and it worked, admin still says files are out of date/wrong versions but it all seems to be working so best left alone.

Before I begin un-installing stuff one question, should the link in the menu link to the original admin or should it point at tp admin???

ZarPrime

To the main SMF Admin.  The TP functions are inside the main admin section for SMF 1.x..  BTW, that will change when TP for SMF 2 is available but I don't want to confuse you.

There is only one Admin link. You access TP's admin pages via SMF's admin.

Thanks guys, back to the drawing board then.
