How to change forum link tree style ?

How to repalce a forum link tree style like:

|__forum1
|_|_forum2
|_|_|_forum3
|_|_|_|_forum4

with this style:
Forum1 > forum2 > forum3 >forum4 (or forum1 | forum2 | forum3| forum4...)

(I'm sure it is a change in the index.template.php file but I'm not success in this try  )

If you want it that way just use Text links?

Out of curiosity, could those be changed to a different Icon instead of the small folders?

YOu can exchange whatever icon you want with it. images/folder_open.gif
