Thanks for posting Doug. I'm looking forward to see what you guys will accomplish with YAP. Good luck, and thanks clearing things up.

bloc

Indeed. :)

All existing portals have a somewhat different approach and philosphy around the portal concept - and that can only be a good thing. The more work put in this area, the more appealing SMF will be as a forum++ for users.

Crip

It's looks like a nice Portal, hope it grows continually. :)

I have become comfortably numb!

i used YAP for about 4 days and didn't lie it much for these resones:

only like 2 themes (both look ugly)
separate admin that is a bit messy
and the themes were a bit hard to modify unlike blocs themes (I'm using the epsilon theme and its easy as pie to replace images  with flash files)

but i do like the page thing in YAP they display properly

as for the best cms i really like is:http://matrix.squiz.net/
but i cant use it because of the database it uses but its Australian (were I'm from)
and has an easy to use interface a bit like the explore folder thing in windows.

Yes, I'd like another option in any case, but in the currently, YAP not enough to make a chance to competition with TP though I'd love a title same that :2funny:

About most CMS I'd like to, now that's PHPFOX but I'm not sure to puschase it nowÃ,  >:D

Has anyone tried e107 yet? I'ts really easy to use and has a lot of nice features but doesn't work with smf very well...as of yet. I do hear they are working on that, tho. It does have a scaled down forum included. But it's a lot easier to create websites than mambo/joomla.

And as for my money, it's TP all of the way!!!

bloc

Yup, I have used and tried e107 a couple of years back. I liked it then, not sure where they are today though.

I'd choose it over mambo any day. Much more user-friendly but can't replace tp.
