First you have to know your version of SMF and if you have TinyPortal installed or not.
Is it SMF ONLY 1.0.5, 1.0.6 or 1.0.8 ? If your answer is yes, you need to go here (http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=cat4) and download the SMF ONLY-themes of your liking.
Is it SMF 1.0.5, 1.0.6 or 1.0.8 with TinyPortal installed ? If your answer is yes, you need to go here (http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=cat7) and download the SMF WITH TinyPortal installed - themes of your liking.
If you have SMF 1.1RC3 ONLY installed you need to go here (http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=cat282) and download the SMF ONLY-Theme of your liking.
If you have SMF 1.1RC3 with TinyPortal installed you need to go here (http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=cat344) and download the TP-Teme of your liking.
If you have SMF 1.1 or above ONLY installed you need to go here (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=cat475) and download the SMF ONLY- Theme of your liking.
If you have SMF 1.1 or above with TinyPortal installed you need to go here (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=cat476) and download the TP-Teme of your liking. There are also other themes located in the forum under TP Theme Support. (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?board=31.0)
When you have downloaded the themes you want to install you go to your Theme manager in the Admin section Admin/Themes and Layout/Manage and Install/
Down in that page you have "Install a new theme" and a "Browse" button. Click the Browse button, and go to your local harddrive where you have saved the themes from the Download section.
Choose what theme you want, and click on Install button. Recommended you install any new theme while in the default theme to prevent errors.
You get a new frame that tells you if the install was successfull or an error message.
If you have got an errormessage, go to your local harddrive and unzip the Theme and upload the folder with the content inside, through your FTP into the /SMF/THEMES folder.
Then you go back to Admin/Themes and Layout/Manage and Install/
In the middle row you have something like this /customer/domain/your domain/SMF/THEMES/.
After THEMES you manualy write the theme name and then click the Install button.
You get a new frame that tell if you made a successfull install.
