I have been making themes for about 3 years now, starting when I was first introduced to SMF back in 2003. After some time I wanted to expand this site with more portal options and started working on the mod which is now called TinyPortal. I have a background in graphic arts, but is self taught in programming.
Digital art
After getting my first PC I started dabbling with digital pictures, some of which ended up on various digital art sites. Their style was somewhat similar to painting - a long time hobby - and of course heavy use of Photoshop. Other programs I like to use are for example the excellent Terragen and Bryce, great for creating all sorts of abstract imagery as well as renderings of landscapes.
But it wasn't until I discovered SMF that theme making really pushed forward, and challenged me to learn php. Because, to really master the theme engine I believe knowledge of both PHP and HTML is required. After some time I was invited to the SMF Design Team over at simplemachines.org , and I divide my time between there and this site.
Home
My homeplace is a small town in Norway called Molde, where I live with wife and 3 children. Recently moved as well, and juggling between a new job, family and the net.
