I did a search and found only a 2 year old thread regarding copyright removal.

I realize I can remove it myself and lose support but I won't do that. I'm wondering if there is another method of removing it (through donation, payment, whatever)?  :)

We are not for a removal what so ever. It´s what gives the creators of free software credits for their work.
Better to leave it as is so all the work made for what you use are there to show others where it comes from.  O0

I have no problem with that and I'll definitely leave as is.

The only reason I asked is because mod and theme authors want to put their copyright in my board's footer so it's going to get pretty long and messy after awhile.

Ideally I'd like to have a 'Custom Credits' page where all the copyrights and links are listed but the drawback is, of course, very few people would actually read it and see the copyrights I imagine.

With a little bit of CSS you can make the text small and inconspicuous. :)

Maybe you could do it so when you hover over the text it becomes a readable size again.
