Hi can anyone help?

Everything was working fine before all of the feeds were showing but now some of the RSS feeds in my frontpage block don't work. Checked out the feeds in another reader and it works fine.

You can check out my site at pokermanila.com

Here are the feeds that don't work.

im having the same problem with http://www.impsvillage.com/forums/index.php?act=rssout&id=1

I see this was posted in November ... did u solve it?

I am trying to get a RSS feed from the above feed working in my frout page.
In block manager i add a new block and select the radio button next to the RSS feed.

i enter the above URL in the block that has the default value  "-no content-" (replacing the comment)

I change the "Choose your membergroups that will able to see this block." so that only the admin can see it and put an arb comment in tittle.

hit save button

change the "On/Off/Move" to green so it is viewable click the edit button again just to check every thing ok..

click home button on main menu bar to goto frout page and all i see is the block with my arb comment but no RSS feed.

is there somethng im missing?

Faust

thanks for ur prompt answer.

can u please point me in a direction where i might get support for this product?

Faust

sorry i am confused as i am so easly done.

I thought i was running SMF with Tinyportal

I think you guys have misread what Faust has posted. He has stated that he's trying to get a RSS feed working from that invision board.

Faust, RSS feeds don't seem to work all that well if there are errors in the feed. Often times it may even crash the whole board until you are able to disable the feed. I'm not sure that feed will even work. I just tried to view it, and I couldn't see it without being logged in. Have you tried any other feeds to see if they work?

Lesmond

it would seem that it is me thats confused  :idiot2: sorry

Lesmond

Maybe thats why it wont work, its in an hidden board

Faust

Yes I see now, IchBin, thank u. i found a site to test feeds namely
http://feedvalidator.org/
and it clearly shows that the feed is not of a standard type. i.e.

"It looks like this is a web page, not a feed."

going to see what i can hack and read up on "Invision Power Board" to see how they export the feed.

so Lesmond looks like u are the zen master. ;)

I can't get any of the 3 feeds I tried to work.  Error log reports eg 2: fopen(http://rss.slashdot.org/Slashdot/slashdot) [<a href='function.fopen'>function.fopen</a>]: failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found

I'm using SMF 1.1.1 & TP 0.9.7.
